Volunteer

Healdsburg Animal Shelter (HAS) recognizes and values the essential role that volunteers play in the organization. Volunteers are a critical part of the shelter's success. We consider HAS to be a community shelter and that only through the services and support of volunteers in our community will we be able to reach our goals and fulfill our mission statement.

There is always a great need for volunteers in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the shelter as well as in specialized fields such as Animal Transport, Foster Care, Client Service, etc. Volunteers are a valued asset when it comes to socializing the cats and dogs through contact and interaction whether it's petting and brushing the cats, walking and grooming the dogs, teaching basic commands to the dogs, or assisting in obedience training.  All of these efforts pay off in a more happy, social, and adoptable animal.
