Judi Adams - Director of Animal Services

Judi joined the Shelter in November 2012, relocating from Carmel Valley, CA after serving 8 years as Captain of the Humane Investigations Division of the SPCA for Monterey County. Her experience in animal welfare includes cruelty and neglect investigations, enforcement of State anti-cruelty laws, preparation of criminal cases for prosecution, and animal rescue including disaster response.

Judi is proud to be a member of the HAS team and eager to help the residents and animals of Healdsburg. "I love the sense of community here and am looking forward to becoming involved on both a professional and personal level."

When not on the job, Judi enjoys multisport training and triathlon competition, river kayaking, and hiking with her dog "Gryphon."


Caroline Marker - Office Manager

Caroline began volunteering with the Shelter in April 2009 as a dog walker. She has lived in Healdsburg since 1988. Caroline was born and raised in the Sonoma Valley; she grew up with a menagerie of animals. She has spent most of her career in public service working for Sonoma County and the City of Healdsburg.

She enjoys hiking with her dog, Henry, reading, traveling with her husband, Richard and visiting their grandson.


Kerri Griffiths - Volunteer Coordinator

Kerri began her career at the shelter as a volunteer dog walker. She was hired as a staff member to work in the front office and has now assumed the role of Volunteer Coordinator. Kerri has a background in event planning as well as retail and restaurant management. She graduated with a degree in Environmental Biology from Fort Lewis College in Colorado.

Kerri lives in Western Sonoma County with her husband, Jack, and their dog Tater, a Healdsburg Shelter alumni.  She enjoys camping, gardening and practicing yoga in her free time. 


Jennifer Roget - Front Office Coordinator

Jennifer and her husband Randy moved to Sonoma County from the Central Valley. She began volunteering at the Shelter in November 2011 and accepted a position in the front office in January 2012.

Throughout her life, Jennifer has had a love for furry friends. She currently has a Brittany named Dusty and he runs the household!

When she's not at the Shelter with the animals, Jennifer enjoys reading, taking Dusty for walks and she loves the beach. She and her husband have two grown children, Nick who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force and Amy who resides in Santa Cruz.

Todd Pyland - Kennel Technician

Todd has been with the Shelter for two years working as a kennel tech. He has a pit bull named Shaymus and a cocker spaniel mix named Abigail, one of our very own HAS alumni.


Jared Marill - Kennel Technician

Jared has worked with dogs for the past 6 years, including Bad Rap (Pitbull rescue), Guide Dogs For The Blind and various doggy day cares.  He has a 12 year old cat named Monkey. Jared is originally from Oakland.


April Moritz - Kennel Technician

April's interest in animals began at the age of 12 when she started volunteering at the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter. She has worked at several dog boarding and training facilities. She also interned with Sonoma County Animal Care and Control for a couple of years.

April received her Veterinary Technician Certificate in May 2011.

April enjoys urban mushing with her Pitbul mix, Chevy and her two Huskies, Marley and Jullian. She also enjoys camping, photography and 4-wheeling.
